We'd love to hear from you
Whether you have a question about voting, need help with a transaction, or are a non-profit interested in participating in a future Community Trees event — you're in the right place. Fill out the form below and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
Questions about voting?
Here are answers to the most common questions before you reach out:
Can I vote more than once? Yes! You can vote up to $250 per tree each day through 9:00pm December 28. Each transaction is a separate donation and the $0.80 + 4.8% processing fee applies once per transaction.
Can I split my votes between multiple non-profits? Absolutely — you can give up to 250 votes each day to as many trees as you like in a single transaction.
What is the processing fee? It's a one-time platform fee charged by RunSignup per transaction — not per vote. 100% of your vote total goes directly to the non-profit(s) you chose.
Why is there a small tax amount? The small tax is based on the processing fee not the votes and is required by West Virginia state law.
Can I vote in person? Yes! Come visit the trees at Lights on the Lake — 1329 Lakeside Drive, Harpers Ferry, WV — and cast your votes with cash on-site. No account or processing fee required. Check our website www.LightsOnTheLakeWV.com for ticket information.
Is my donation tax-deductible? Yes. Community Trees is organized by Eastern Panhandle Community Event, Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN: 93-2326102). You will receive a receipt by email after your transaction.
Is your non-profit interested in having a tree?
We'd love to have you! Each year, local non-profits are invited to decorate a tree at Lights on the Lake and compete for votes — with 100% of every vote going directly back to them. Here's how enrollment works:
Participation Fee There is a participation fee based on which tree type you select. This fee is typically covered by a sponsor, and half of the fee is returned to your non-profit at the end of the event — so your organization keeps both the votes and a portion of the fee.
First Monday in August Enrollment opens for returning non-profits from the previous year's event.
Two weeks later Enrollment opens to new non-profits. Spots are limited — we recommend submitting your interest form as early as possible.
November – December Lights on the Lake runs, trees are on display, and voting is open to the public nationwide.
How to express interest Fill out the contact form below and we'll send you a link to our official interest form and answer any questions you have about the process.
Please note: submitting the contact form does not reserve your spot. Official enrollment opens in August and spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis after enrollment opens.
